In “Happy Gilmore 2,” Travis Kelce will make a brief appearance, and Adam Sandler has hinted that he has a “nice something” in store for the Kansas City Chiefs player.
With a special appearance planned for Netflix, Adam Sandler has hinted that Travis Kelce would be getting a surprise in the highly awaited “Happy Gilmore 2.”
The Hollywood favourite dropped the hint while chatting it up with Jimmy Fallon, saying, “We have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
The ‘Grown Ups’ star disclosed that the team is going above and beyond to make sure the follow-up lives up to the legendary 1996 hit, following his revelation that he planned for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend to make a brief appearance in his next film.
Sandler told the host: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2.’ And I was always like ‘Nah, I’ll only let you down.’ We’re really excited about it … We wrote our a**** off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that I think you’ll like.”
Recently, Sandler disclosed that he and co-writer Tim Herlihy thought the time was right to do a follow-up to their hit movie from 28 years ago, which was a box office hit. He stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“The idea that me and my buddy Tim Herlihy had and the more we talked about it and scene to scene worked on it, it built and we feel very strong about the movie itself. We’re happy where it’s at and this is an exciting time for us. I don’t know how all of a sudden our brains said, ‘Let’s do that.’ It just kind of happened.”
