Angel Reese Shares First Post Surgery Photo

The Chicago Sky reported on Tuesday that forward Angel Reese, a standout player, had a successful surgery to repair her fractured left wrist. The day after she defeated the Los Angeles Sparks at Wintrust Arena with 24 points, Reese revealed the injury. The staff anticipates that Reese will begin her recuperation in the upcoming weeks.

The day following the game, Reese disclosed that she will be undergoing surgery due to an injury that ended her season. She stated in the post, “God gives his strongest soldiers his hardest battles.” Reese has now revealed her first post surgery photo on Instagram. Her wrist seemed to be in a cast and after a successful surgery. She was smiling and was in high spirits.

Prior to the planned surgery, head coach Teresa Weatherspoon informed reporters during practice on Tuesday that Reese was in “high spirits.” With her 15 straight double-doubles earlier in the season, Reese set a WNBA record. She also concluded the season averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. On September 6, she played her last game and led the Sparks to a 92-78 victory with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Reese was hurt during Friday night’s 92-78 victory of the Chicago Bulls over the Los Angeles Sparks. Playing, she tumbled to the ground, falling awkwardly on her wrist and hand.

“I am out for the season due to a wrist injury. In the video, Reese said, “I fell on my hand and my bone cracked a little. “In essence, the physicians informed me that I had two options: surgery or nothing.

“The possibility of not having surgery is that, at age 22, I might actually develop arthritis. That was not a possibility. The bone can break or crack. As of right now, the fracture resembles a hairline. Because there is little to no blood flow in this area, healing is extremely difficult. I’m getting surgery.”
