Angel Reese tries to tamp down 2028 Olympic expectations after Team USA’s latest gold

As the Summer Games officially came to an end, the American women’s basketball team completed its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in Paris.

Following the incident, all eyes are focused on the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the athletes who will don the red, white, and blue uniforms. A post on the ESPN Women’s Hoops X account conjectured on the possible roster members, naming JuJu Watkins, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, and Caitlin Clark.

Reese, a talented rookie for the Chicago Sky who will play again later this month, attempted to draw focus back to the champions of this year’s competition.

“Let’s just congratulate these women & let them enjoy this moment! Leave me out of this until my time comes!” Reese wrote on X in response.Angel Reese tries to tamp down 2028 Olympic expectations after Team USA's latest gold

On Team USA, Reese and Clark would probably be the role models for the upcoming generation of women’s basketball players. In their first WNBA seasons, both have been fighting for the Rookie of the Year Award as their teams struggle to make the playoffs.

With her final year at UConn, Bueckers is probably going to be selected among the first picks in the draft the following year. At USC, Watkins is starting her sophomore year.

The following moves for Team USA will be the subject of much fanfare. It would be an amazing accomplishment to win nine gold medals.
