Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are the front-runners for the Rookie of the Year award, and it is undeniable that Reese is one of the two winners because her achievements speak louder than words. But the Chicago Sky player doesn’t have this in mind; in fact, she doesn’t really care about the honor, which is in line with what Clark just stated regarding being in the running for it.
“I think me and Angel would both give you the same answer,” Clark told reporters before the game between each other. “We don’t wake up and think about individual awards. We don’t either care about the Rookie of the Year, I think you guys have made it a big thing.” Angel Reese said pretty much the same thing, as they both want to transcend in a tough and competitive league. “I don’t think anybody, we don’t either care about the rookie of the year but you guys.”
Caitlin Clark when asked how fun it is to be part of the competition of the rookie of the year race:

Then, the Chicago Sky player said that the media was the one to blame on this topic. #I think you guys have made it a big thing, we haven’t,” Reese said. “So just continue just to work within our team, we both wanna, we’ve been waiting to win, and that’s what we’ve done in our collegiate career, we played against each other in two numerous last year and the year before in the March Madness tournament so we’re just trying to do whatever it takes to win, that’s what’s important right now.”
It will be a game to remember, but it’s also important to remember that the two best rookies, who represent the league’s future, share the same mentality and will steer their careers in the correct direction for many years to come.
