Brittany Hill, senior marketing director for the Mississippi Grammy Museum in Cleveland, explains the precautions and process of getting Taylor Swift through the Eras exhibit pieces from Nashville to Cleveland for the ongoing exhibit Friday, Aug. 23. The Eras exhibit runs through Feb. 2. Barbara Gauntt/Clarion Ledger
And don’t worry if August slips away like a bottle of wine, the exhibit will be here until February, but unfortunately not an endless February.

The exhibit opened Friday and will stay on display until Feb. 2, 2025.

The exhibit is completely unique to Mississippi. Once the exhibit closes, the artifacts will return to the private collection in Nashville

From start to finish, the display takes visitors through each of Swift’s 11 eras of music and spans 18 years of her tours and red-carpet appearances. The exhibit is timely as Swift gets closer to wrapping up her Eras Tour, which has visited five continents over the course of the past year, putting on nearly 150 shows.

Brittany Hill, the museum’s senior marketing and development manager, said a lot of people have asked her if Miss Americana herself will visit the Delta. Unfortunately, Swift will most likely not make an appearance at the exhibit, Hill said.

Hill said Swift’s management company, 13 Management, was extremely helpful throughout the process. Management worked closely with the Grammy Museum to create the exhibit which includes an outfit in front of its respective era with information on the albums, including the re-recordings. Swift’s 2022 album “Midnights” makes an extra appearance with the blue two-piece dress Swift wore during the 2023 Grammy Awards.

The exhibit also includes a room featuring several of Swift’s self-directed music videos on a loop, including the short film accompanying her song, “All Too Well” (Ten Minute Version).

The museum delayed the exhibit’s announcement after the events in Vienna. Swift was set to perform three shows during her eras tour stop in Vienna in early August. The shows were canceled after authorities foiled a suspected terrorist plot.

This exhibit, which is more than a year in the works, required an extra layer of details during the planning stages, Hill said. A team drove up to Nashville and collected the artifacts in two trucks. Then, the artifacts were kept in a museum prep room with specific temperature and light controls.

Official Taylor Swift merch has nearly completely taken over the museum’s gift shop, and a friendship bracelet making station is set up in the lobby. After writing a lyric about friendship bracelets in her “Midnights” album, Swift sparked a movement of fans creating and trading friendship bracelets during the eras tour shows.
