The Kansas City Chiefs narrowly defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 19-17 during their primetime Black Friday showdown on Nov. 29. While the Chiefs moved to 11-1 on the season and clinched a spot in the playoffs, Taylor Swift was at Arrowhead Stadium cheering for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Even though Swift’s Eras concert tour is on break until Dec. 6, the “Karma” singer’s presence in Kansas City following the Thanksgiving holiday came as a surprise for some fans.
During an appearance on the “Today” show earlier this month, Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, remained cagey about the family’s holiday schedule, especially when it came to Swift.
“I am going to be at a football game,” Donna said. “Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving. You know, football is always the holidays.” As for whether they were planning a “big dinner” for Thanksgiving, “Not that anything’s planned. I think we’re just going to be at the football game.” When pressed on whether Swift was joining the Kelce family festivities, “I don’t think so,” Donna said. “She’s kinda busy right now. She still has her tour to do.”

Of course, Chiefs Kingdom was thrilled to see Swift arrive to the Week 13 matchup alongside Donna, and her father, Scott Swift.
One fan posted on X, “shoutout to Donna Kelce for respecting Tay’s privacy and saying that Taylor wouldnt be with them for Thanksgiving when she actually was. Iconic woman… And to all those who [expletive] on her for her vague response, she was protecting Taylor and Travis’ privacy and we have to stan her for that.”
The fan’s message racked up nearly 30,000 likes. One woman responded, “I was telling my coworker I love how Donna is just like ‘idk she’s probably busy’ every time lmao she’s a star.” Another person wrote, “Donna Kelce is the real MVP, keeping secrets like a pro.”
A source told The Daily Mail that Swift spent the Thanksgiving holiday with Kelce and numerous family members. ‘Taylor and Travis are both grateful to have the day off so that they can just really relax and enjoy their second Thanksgiving together.
