Hollywood Star, Adam Sandler Confirms Travis Kelce’s Role in New Sequel

On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday night, Adam Sandler discussed “Happy Gilmore 2,” the planned Netflix follow-up to his 1996 smash comedy about a hockey player who becomes a golfer. Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and former standout player for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, will feature in the upcoming film, according to Sandler.

“This is happening,” Sandler said of the sequel. “We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey. … And we start in a couple weeks. It’s good. It’s good. Like we worked hard on this script. Man, we didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2.’ And I was always like, ‘Nah. I would only let you down.’ But me and my buddy Tim Herlihy, we came up with the idea we’re really excited about it”.

“We wrote our asses off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that you guys would like. And we’re excited. So many golfers are being nice and they’re gonna be a part of it. Gonna be a lot of (cameos).” “You know Travis Kelce wants to be part of it?” Fallon responded. Dis Travis just predict the future as he was photographed wearing a happy Gilmore hat sometime last year.

This will be the Chiefs TE’s second movie in after starring in Ryan Murphy’s New Show ‘Grotesquerie’. “Oh yeah. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Travis has been – he mentioned it and so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. And he’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big handsome guy. … Cool as hell. He’s a stud. And he’s so funny.”
