Inside Taylor Swift’s £17,500 a Night London Hotel Suite

Chopstix looks back at a stay at The Savoy hotel’s Royal Suite, which featured in the superstar’s End Game video and is reportedly her favorite in London, on the eve of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour opening at Wembley. Our butler shows us to the room via an antique elevator after we check in; he says, “many celebrities who have stayed have had their picture taken in here,” though he is too discreet to mention names.

Costing from £17,500 a night, the Royal Suite occupies the entire fifth floor’s river side. It features numerous rooms, including a living area with a bar (shown in the End Game video) and is designed in an elegant Edwardian style. In addition to offering to unpack our bags, our butler gives us a glass of champagne.

The suite includes a spacious hallway that opens to the dining area, large bathroom, bedroom, and walk-in wardrobe with dressing table. Our in-suite bar is too delicious to resist, but we could head down to the hotel’s storied American Bar and the more recent, glitzy Beaufort Bar (where Taylor Swift was shot for Vanity Fair).

We mix a couple for ourselves as Taylor was actually filmed drinking a martini on the bar for the End Game video. We also decide to have dinner in the suite. The butler inquires if we would like a table for two set up near the window so that we can take in the entire view even if there is a dining room.

Another surprise comes when we are wheeled in to make our selections from an ice cream cart for dessert. When it’s time to go to bed, we see that our butler has made our bed prepared with our pajamas. The bed itself is a lavish four poster king with a canopy made of drapes that appears like it belongs in a storybook. And the mattress and topper were estimated to be worth £100,000—yes, you read that right.

The Savoy mattresses are constructed with horse tail in between pocket springs, much like the greatest mattresses. The one in the Royal Suite also has a hand-tufted topper crafted from rare fur that is hand-combed from yaks that roam the Mongolian highlands once a year. Their hair has remarkable temperature-regulating qualities and is softer than cashmere, making it ideal for promoting sleep.
