At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Travis Kelce supported his girlfriend Taylor Swift by cheering for her to win several prizes. In Wednesday’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his brother Jason Kelce were speaking when the former Philadelphia Eagles center started reading an advertisement for the awards ceremony.
“Perhaps Taylor can take a few with him!” 34-year-old Travis spoke forward. She has roughly ten nominations for those categories this evening. I hope she can take some Moonmen with her. “Those are some of the more impressive awards,” he continued. In fact, Swift, 34, is up for 12 nominations, including artist of the year.
The 36-year-old Jason praised the Moon Person trophy and said, “Very cool,” after agreeing with his brother, before clapping and proclaiming, “Let’s go, Tay! Come on, Tay!”. “Remain at the top! Let’s get started! But I’m wishing everyone the best,” Travis continued. “Unless Tay is your opponent. Then I hope you lo-,” Jason jokingly said, pausing before he could say “lose.”
Swift, who has previously won 23 VMAs, has a chance to break Beyoncé’s record of 27 victories on Wednesday. The singer of “Cruel Summer” has always loved the VMAs, but it’s uncertain if she’ll be at this year’s presentation at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York.
Swift shattered the record by winning nine awards in one night in the 2023 competition, including video of the year for her song “Anti-Hero.” After a three-year break, the “Blank Space” singer attended the 2022 performance and made headlines by revealing her upcoming album, “Midnights” onstage to celebrate her first win 13 years prior.

The singer of “Blank Space” also attended the 2022 event following a three-year break, and to commemorate her first victory thirteen years earlier, she notably revealed her album “Midnights” onstage. Swift is unlikely to bring Kelce, whom she has been dating for a year, along if she decides to walk the star-studded red carpet on Wednesday.
The NFL star is in the middle of his football season and has a game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. He recently had an exciting weekend with his girlfriend in New York City. No matter if Swift or Kelce show up, a number of celebrities are anticipated to perform at the 2024 VMAs. Katy Perry will deliver “a show-stopping, career-spanning medley of her biggest hits” before receiving the coveted Video Vanguard Award.
Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Eminem, Lenny Kravitz, Chappell Roan, Anitta, GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion are also slated to take the stage, among others. The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards air Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
