Jason Kelce reveals why he did not like playing against brother Travis and the Chiefs

Jason Kelce hated playing against younger brother Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs while he was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles because they were always really good.

Kelce did not have a problem with a little sibling competition playing for the professional football team from the City of Brotherly Love. The now-ESPN analyst just hated losing to Travis.

The Eagles and Chiefs faced five times with the Kelce brothers in opposite locker rooms, with Philadelphia only winning once, their last meeting in November 2023.

Travis’ Chiefs were victorious the first four times the brothers were ever gridiron opponents, including the most important one, the 2023 Super Bowl.

‘It’s annoying is what it is,’ Jason Kelce said of playing his brother. ‘Because he’s so good – that’s why. They were very good. I was only fortunate to beat Trav once.’

‘But when you’re out there on the field getting ready to play your brother, there’s just something about seeing your brother out there that you get these flashbacks going to being out in the backyard playing football again.’

Kelce talked about the brotherly rivalry in the context of Jim and John Harbuagh coaching against each other for the third time in their careers.

It was the first time it was an all-AFC matchup for the Harbaugh duo, as Jim is in his first season coaching the Los Angeles Chargers after a national-championship run outside the NFL at Michigan.

Under the current NFL scheduling model, AFC and NFC teams are only guaranteed to play each other in the regular season every four years.

That means the next locked-in Chiefs-Eagles game will be in 2027.

It remains to be seen whether either Kelce will be an active participant in that game.
