Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has one goal before the start of the 2024 NFL regular season. Get hit.
The former LSU Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes standout quarterback is coming off an injury in 2023. Burrow missed most of the ’23 season with a torn ligament in his wrist.
He’s fully healthy now, though, and ready to go in 2024. But first, Burrow wants to take one big hit in the preseason, to get himself ready for the regular season. Burrow played in the Bengals’ preseason opener on Saturday, completing five of seven passes for 51 yards. He led the team on a 12-play touchdown drive.
“It was good to be back out there with the guys,” Burrow said after the game. “Nice to get some reps in the game that didn’t count towards our record. Still some work to do. It’s nice to get back out there.”
Burrow didn’t take any hits on Saturday, but he’s hoping that changes before the regular season. “Maybe once before anything,” Burrow said. “Just get hit one time before getting out there for the first game.” The Bengals will be back in action next Saturday, taking on the Chicago Bears at 1 p.m. E.T.
