Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were spotted together exiting Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce and the Chiefs held on for a thrilling 27-20 victory over the Ravens in Kansas City, setting up the ideal start to their second consecutive Super Bowl defense.
In a thrilling conclusion, Baltimore believed they had tied the game with 0 seconds remaining, but tight end Isaiah Likely’s toe was called out of bounds after he grabbed a pass from Lamar Jackson. Swift also made her much-anticipated return to Arrowhead to support boyfriend Kelce on a thrilling first night of the 2018 NFL season.
And in the wee hours of Friday morning, the pop megastar was spotted exiting the stadium hand in hand with her significant other after attending the game in a private suite with Travis’ family. She made her NFL debut on Thursday night, wearing an exquisite denim ensemble. This was her first NFL appearence since the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in February. Meanwhile, Kelce walked into Arrowhead sporting shades, a white-and-red cap, and an ombré ensemble of light brown and white. After the game, he put the suit back on.
Swift did not sit with Brittany Mahomes during Thursday night’s Kansas City game, raising questions about the status of their connection.
They looked to be in separate suites as they took their seats on the first night of the new NFL season. Compared to last season, when they were bonded at games, there has been a noticeable change. Swift took her customary place with the tight end’s friends and family in Kelce’s luxurious suite. In the first part, she was seen sitting next to Ed and Donna, Kelce’s parents.
Mahomes, on the other hand, was sitting in a separate suite supporting her husband alongside her gorgeous daughter Sterling Skye. After once again helping Mahomes make history, Kelce threw Swift off in the stands during the Chiefs’ victory. In the second quarter, Mahomes found his partner with a 23-yard throw. Although it was Kelce’s first significant play of the game, the quarterback’s achievement was historic.
With the 23 yards, Mahomes surpassed Hall of Famer Len Dawson to become the Chiefs’ all-time passing leader in franchise history. Swift jumped out of her seat as soon as Kelce made the catch and gave a big hug to Kelce’s mother, Donna, who was sitting next to her during the Ravens’ 27-20 triumph.
Although it was a quieter game than typical on opening night by Kelce’s perfect standards, his team won against illustrious opponents and took the first step toward a possible “three-peat.” The Ravens drew first blood on the night with a surgical drive downfield in the opening quarter that showed there’s no lingering effects of last season’s AFC Championship game defeat by the Chiefs.
Their marquee offseason signing Derrick Henry proved why John Harbaugh was desperate to bring him to Baltimore, smashing his way through the Chiefs defense to score the first touchdown of the new season.
But Andy Reid’s own new recruit tied the game on the Chiefs’ first drive. The speed of Xavier Worthy was too much for the Ravens defense as he burst through a gap to score on his first NFL start. The Chiefs led 13–7 at the half because of two field goals from controversial kicker Harrison Butker. In the third quarter, they increased their lead when Isiah Pacheco was pushed over the line.
On the opening play of the fourth quarter, though, Isaiah Likely raced down the sideline after catching a ball from Lamar Jackson. Bryan Cook of the Chiefs appeared to be ready to make a tackle, but Likely used deft footwork to avoid the tackle and get to the end zone.
Jackson ran for 122 yards on 16 carries after completing 26 of 41 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown. Worthy produced what may have been the biggest play of the game during the subsequent drive, catching a Mahomes throw on a second-and-10 play from the Baltimore 35 to give the Chiefs a 27-17 lead with 10:25 remaining in the game.
With 4:54 remaining in the game, Justin Tucker’s 32-yard field goal brought the Ravens within seven points. After two minutes, but without any timeouts, Baltimore regained possession of the ball. With 43 seconds remaining, Jackson found Bateman for a 38-yard throw on a first-and-10 play, to the Kansas City 10, before Likely was called out of bounds on the game’s last play.
Before Jackson made the unfortunate throw to Likely to finish the game, he tossed two incomplete passes. Baltimore Running back Derrick Henry, who was signed as a free agent this offseason, ran for 46 yards on 13 carries and scored on a five-yard run on the game’s opening drive.
