NFL News: Chiefs bring back former Super Bowl champion to help Patrick Mahomes

A former Kansas City Chief joins to bolster Patrick Mahomes’ and Andy Reid’s offensive line ahead of Week

Teams are wrapping up their preparations for the upcoming NFL season, which begins soon. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will try to win the Super Bowl three times in a row. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is excitedly expecting the arrival of a high-profile new addition to his offensive line.

In terms of performance, Andy Reid’s team’s preseason has undoubtedly not gone as planned. Though injuries have been a major factor in this preparation phase, three straight losses have forced a reevaluation of various facets of the team’s performance.

The Chiefs lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 26–13 in their opening preseason game; the Detroit Lions defeated the Chiefs 24-23 in their second game; and Kansas City was defeated 34–21 by the Chicago Bears in their final preseason game.

Preseason games don’t really matter in terms of results, but Coach Reid and Patrick Mahomes will need to take care of some personnel concerns in order to be ready for Week 1. On Thursday Night Football, they take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

The return of a former Chief

The offensive line of the Chiefs keeps getting stronger in anticipation of the upcoming NFL season. Following the serious injury to WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, the management acted quickly to find a replacement.

The Chiefs have signed WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was just released by the New England Patriots, to cover for Brown’s departure and help Mahomes and Kelce on offense.
