Taylor Swift has returned to her “Red” phase. The 34-year-old pop sensation was seen supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce by showing up at the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opening against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Swift had a lively appearance while sporting over-the-knee red leather boots, jean shorts, and a corset.
The “Fortnight” singer accessorized her hair with subtle waves and, as always, finished the ensemble with her trademark red lip. The New York Times had earlier in the day reported she would be in the stands, so her attendance at the game wasn’t shocking. According to unidentified security staff, the stadium arranged security for the 14-time Grammy winner to attend the Week 1 game.
Swift did, however, attend 13 of her beau’s games at Arrowhead Stadium last season, so she is no stranger to the stadium’s glaring lights. The singer of “You Belong With Me” also performed at the outdoor stadium multiple times last year to packed houses; the tight end recently honored Swift with a unique present.
The three-time Super Bowl champion hung a picture of Swift onstage in his private room in Kansas City during the off-season, where she attends every game. Swift is probably going to see the heartfelt homage in person on Thursday. The Eras Tour photo was put next to a poster of the NFL player in uniform.
Swift’s screen time during the games has drawn criticism from some NFL fans, but Chiefs president Mark Donovan emphasized that the team is “not trying to capitalize” on their partnership. He stated on “Front Office Sports” on Thursday, “We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown.” “She was never visible on our large board.”
Donovan acknowledged that he and his teammates made a “conscious decision to respect the relationship,” but he is unable to discount the advantages it has brought to the Chiefs and the league at large. According to reports, the “All Too Well” singer brought in almost $330 million for the squad based in Missouri.
The NFL recorded its highest regular-season female audience figures in over a decade thanks to the Swifties. As per IDX, there was a recorded surge of 53% among teenage girls, 24% among women aged 18-24, and 34% among women aged 35 and above.
At one of Kelce’s games in September of last year, Swift and Kelce made their relationship public. But it’s said that their romance started months earlier.
