Many Taylor Swift fans have expressed their desire to see the pop diva accompany Hailee Steinfeld as she enters the “W” phase of her WAG adventure.
Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, posted a picture of his lavish beachside proposal on Instagram on November 29 to announce his engagement to the 27-year-old Dickinson star. The 28-year-old NFL player is seen kneeling in front of Steinfeld in the picture, who is encircled by candles and a gorgeous floral archway. He wrote the day he proposed, November 22, as a caption for the picture. The announcement is available here.
“Congratulations!!!” Kelce commented on Allen’s post with a series of raised hands and clapping emojis, immediately sparking a wave of comments that all say pretty much the same thing. “You next,” was the most popular reply to Kelce’s comment, though plenty of Swifties and NFL fans also wrote, “Your move.”
People claims that Steinfeld and Allen were originally connected in May 2023 and that they appeared in public together for the first time in October 2023, shortly after Taylor Swift, the actor’s pal, went to her first Chiefs game and virtually made her relationship with Travis Kelce public in late September. Fans have begun telling Kelce to take his next shot, which is not surprising given that the A-list couples have comparable relationship timelines.
Engagement pressure is nothing new to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. While Swift has struggled with public expectations in past relationships—just listen to the lyrics of “Lavender Haze” and “Champagne Problems”—Kelce has been asked about his plans so frequently that, much to Jason Kelce’s dismay, he has begun to have some fun with it on his podcast. In August, following months of conjecture, Kelce’s team intervened to dispel a fabricated report.
Not everyone, of course, believes that Swift and Kelce’s fans should feel so at ease becoming involved in their private affairs. One fan responded to those “you next” remarks by saying, “Perhaps they don’t want to get engaged.” “Leave them alone; it’s their lives.”
