In response to ‘unfounded speculation’ that they are engaged, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have retaliated. The claims began to circulate after Monday Night Football pundit Troy Aikman made a mistake.
After a year of dating, Aikman may have made a mistake when he called Swift Kelce’s “missus” on the show, which sparked rumors that the couple was engaged.
However, in an interview with TMZ, a person close to the couple refuted the allegations.
‘It’s not true and the recent erratic and unfounded speculation on this couple is just proving that media and overzealous fans do not know what’s going on with them and shouldn’t make wild assumptions based on zero facts,’ the source told the outlet.
That source added, ‘Two days ago everyone had decided they were broken up, not they’re allegedly secretly engaged? It’s whiplash inducing.’
Aikman initially recognized his slip-up on the air, saying, ‘I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.’
But on a Wednesday episode of the Barstool Sports podcast ‘Pardon My Take’, Aikman believes he may not have slipped up at all.
Aikman admitted on the program that he had information suggesting Kelce “might” have previously proposed. “I might have broken the story,” he claimed.
However, if this report is accurate, the veteran NFL color analyst was misinformed.
Swift was seen supporting her man on Monday as she returned to Arrowhead Stadium for the New Orleans Saints game.
Swift celebrated in her VIP suite with other WAGs, including Chariah Gordon, and praised the Chiefs’ “perfect” victory that improved their record to 5-0.
Following the game, the singer made an appearance on Chariah Gordon’s Instagram account. Chariah Gordon is the partner of Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman.
Gordon asked Swift, who looked to be in Kelce’s suite (a picture of her performing from her Era’s Tour was in the backdrop), what she thought of the win.
‘No, it’s important that you answer the question this time,’ Swift said, before Gordon continued: ‘I think that we feel really good about this week, we are 5-0.’
Swift and Kelce were seen making out after the game, and then they went out to celebrate Travis’s birthday that night.
The Chiefs are on their bye week, so Kelce and Swift were seen leaving Kansas City for the East Coast the next day.
Although the couple’s plans are unknown, Travis gave a hint in the most recent episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” where he cohosted with his brother, Jason Kelce.
‘You got any bye week plans?’ Jason asked. ‘Of course I do,’ Travis quickly replied.
‘You gonna tell anybody?’ Jason asked. ‘No,’ Travis said. ‘But if any of it comes out [in the media], I’m sure we’ll talk about it on the show.’
Swift will soon begin the last leg of her global “Eras Tour,” so she doesn’t have much more time to relax. On October 18, she makes her first of five final appearances in Miami.
