On Saturday, August 10, at 6 p.m. CST, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first exhibition game of the 2024 NFL preseason. Seeing quarterback Patrick Mahomes and crew in action will be the first chance since Kansas City’s victory in Super Bowl LVIII in January.
The team was photographed walking out of the airplane in Jacksonville, as they begin the NFL Preseason and hopefully defend their title and complete the 3 PEAT. In a surprising decision, the Kansas City Chiefs will allow their fans to get a closer look at their key players on Saturday night during their preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Chiefs’ starting lineup, which includes tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will play through the first quarter, head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Wednesday. This tactic differs from the more cautious one used by the NFL, where important players are frequently rested in order to reduce the danger of injury.
Known for his impressive preseason results, Mahomes will enter the field hoping to break out of the routine of practice. During two preseason games last summer, he completed 12 of 17 passes for 120 yards and one touchdown. “Playing against a different team is refreshing,” Mahomes said. “Practicing against our own defense every day gets old.”
Kelce, who had a bone bruise during preseason play last year and missed the regular-season opening, will also participate. The seasoned tight end is nevertheless determined to play on the field for as long as possible, and he recently signed a two-year contract extension.
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a wide receiver, will make his Chiefs debut during the game. Brown wants to give Mahomes a more reliable target after Kansas City’s receiving corps had a difficult season.
The NFL Network will air the Chiefs’ game versus the Jaguars, which begins at 7 p.m. ET. Fans should be able to get a good look at the team’s readiness and potential as they get ready for another championship run thanks to this early and extensive playtime.
