Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce knows exactly what he’ll be doing for his 35th birthday. He announced he plans to spend at least part of the day with some of his favorite people while hosting his second Kelce Car Jam.
The event is centered around Kelce’s love of cars. It raises money for his 87th and Running Foundation. “As a kid I was mindful of how life looked different for everyone, but as a man I am profoundly aware of the difference in opportunity, exposure, and privilege I grew up with compared to others.
Where you live, the situation you were born into or the color of your skin should have no impact on the dreams you can dream,” Kelce said of his foundation. “And it’s a beautiful thing when a kid’s dream comes true.”
Kelce’s foundation works to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children, including the Ignition Lab at Operation Breakthrough.
The lab provides equipment and other resources to help teenagers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Some of the students have transformed a Chevell into an electric car. Kelce Car Jam 24 will take place Saturday, Oct. 5 at 18th Street and Walnut Street in downtown Kansas City.
It also happens to be Kelce’s birthday, and he also plans to show off some of his cars from his own personal collection.
