Moss was signed to be the starting back, but that was Chase Brown on Saturday evening.
Joe Mixon, the team’s longtime top backfield option, left the Cincinnati Bengals this summer. Many players are anticipated to share the load in his absence, with Zack Moss likely to receive the majority of the carries.
Fans were unable to witness the former Colts player return to action on Saturday, though. Head coach Zac Taylor said that he was absent due to a sickness. After gaining the initial momentum, Chase Brown managed to gain ten yards on five carries. He caught a pass as well.
Even though Brown has been a member of the team for the past few seasons, Moss is still anticipated to start the first week. Last season, he played in 14 games and started eight for the Colts, totaling 794 running yards and 43 first downs.
Moss spent two and a half years in his rookie season with the Buffalo Bills. Trayveon Williams finished the game with three carries for seven yards, aside from Brown. Regardless matter who was in the game, the Bengals failed to run the ball, and Chris Evans managed to pick up a carry for a yard.
In the end, none of the backs had a particularly strong performance, which could support Moss’ claim to be the starting. When Cincinnati hosts the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on August 17, fans will have their next opportunity to witness Moss in action.
