Forming what may be the most famous couple in sports and entertainment, three-time Super Bowl champion tight end Travis Kelce is dating 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift. Kelce has a case for being the best tight end in NFL history, while Swift has made the case for being one of the best musicians ever.
With their worlds intertwining, Swift has been spotted at several Kansas City Chiefs games, forming a friendship with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
According to a report by the U.S. Sun, the bond has flourished so much that Mahomes’ kids do not view Swift as an international pop star. Instead, Mahomes’ three-year-old daughter Sterling and son Bronze, who is a year old, have begun calling her “Auntie Taylor.”
While there has been plenty of speculation that the Swift-Mahomes friendship is over, recent reports indicate otherwise. While wrapping up the European portion of her “Eras” tour, Swift recently met up with Kelce at her Rhode Island mansion as confirmed by Daily Mail. He wasn’t the only guest in attendance before the 2024 NFL season, as the Mahomes family also made it out for the weekend getaway.
The speculation that Swift and Brittany’s friendship may have had some issues came after Brittany Mahomes liked something posted by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump prior to the trip. Swift notoriously called out Trump in 2020, expressing her desire for him not to be in office.
Mahomes also posted an Instagram story on August 27 to express that people can have different opinions and still be friends.
Another invested party that is likely hoping there is no bad blood is the NFL, who according to Front Office Sports, made $330 million for the NFL and Chiefs last season.
Jersey sales of Kelce skyrocketed, and the league also saw viewership records shattered, as according to CBS, the AFC Championship Game saw a record 55 million viewers. Fans of Swift and the Chiefs will likely have a chance to see the duo together again on Thursday, September 5, as Kansas City is hosting the Baltimore Ravens to open their season.
